Midstate Television

Mwahahaha! The champion Luke remembers Early Shift! Truly the most appalling of local programming, until of course Prime Possum came along. I didn't win that bloody Australia's Wonderland competition either! But I was there on the second day it opened, an only slightly less joyous occassion.

Oh, it's all coming back to me now. All those crappy promos... Midstate Television... 6 - 8 - 9!. And all the shoddy jingles... Who cares about the best deals? Who's the one car dealer you can really trust? Ian Parker!. But let's not forget that delightful tank of a man Ross Larsen reading the sports news. I think he still does actually. But now it's clogged up with budding young journalists that I graduated with, it's just not the same. Bring back Peter Andren! :P

2 years ago I came across a video tape recorded off Midstate television in 1985. It features some of those local ads you where taking about. Theres one for 2GZ am 1089 and colmans office products Bathurst. These where played in between the first Mad Max movie which was aired that night.

Ooooooh the flashback! We are your television, with you all the tiiiime...

See on said station, my favourite:

Ned's bread
The big bread
Fresh bread
Kelly's bread
Not a belly full o' lead, Ned
A tummy full of Kelly's bread
It's the best out west...

I can't cope. I think I have to lie down ;-)
