Cult Figure

Last week the Dalai Lama made his third visit to Scotland.

Overheard on the bus by the friend of a friend:

OLD LADY 1: I heard there's some sort of cult coming to the toun.

OLD LADY 2: What cult?

OLD LADY 1: The Dalamas.

I love that the Dalai Lama has his own dedicated AA signs. What a shame you didn't go to see him!

Talking of Buddhist confusions (or perhaps Confucious) I went to see a play called 'Hello Dali' at the Edinburgh Festival last year, and was amused at a conversation between two middle aged blokes outside the venue

Bloke 1: What's this about then?
Bloke 2: Dunno - something about the Dalai Lama, I think

Can you refer me to references by the Dalai Lama to AA. I'm a fan of the Dalai Lama and member of AA. Thanks.
